SPOILERS AHEAD
Luther is kidnapped and held hostage by the Sparrows, who believe the Umbrellas have Marcus. While imprisoned, Luther learns more about the Sparrows, grows smitten with Sloane, and has sex with her.
Klaus takes a reluctant Five to meet Klaus' birth mom, Rachel Herschberger, in Pennsylvania. The two stop at the World's Biggest Ball of Twine, where Klaus reveals he broke into Reginald's office and discovered a book full of check stubs revealing the names and locations of everyone's birth moms. Klaus and Five arrive at an Amish community and meet Rachel's sister, Sarah-Beth, who reveals that Rachel died before Klaus was born. During this, the flaming ball of energy grows larger, producing shockwaves that destroy large numbers of objects, humans, and animals.
Meanwhile, Allison travels to her home in Beverly Hills to discover that her daughter Claire no longer exists, sending her spiraling with rage and grief. Upon learning of Sissy's death in 1989, Vanya realizes he is transgender and changes his name to Viktor. Diego and Stan bond when they attack Alphonso and Jayme at a convenience store. Upon discovering her briefcase doesn't work, Lila uses her powers to steal the Umbrellas' briefcase from the Academy. Klaus and Five return to the hotel and reveal that all of the Umbrellas' mothers are dead, creating a grandfather paradox.
