Run Boy Run is the second episode of The Umbrella Academy. It aired on Netflix on February 15, 2019.
Synopsis
After sharing the story of his time travel with Vanya, Five hunts for the owner of a fake eye. But two mysterious assassins are hot on his trail.
Plot
The episode starts with a flash back of the children. They are all having breakfast when suddenly Number 5 interrupts by sticking his knife into the table. He and Reginald argue because Number 5 wants to start time traveling, but Reginald doesn't think that he is ready. He gets scolded and runs away. As he runs down the street he is also using his power to go back in time. He then jumps too far into the future and ends up in the apocalypse. He tries to use his powers but ultimately fails
Back in modern day Number 5 is talking to Vanya about how he survived. He tries to leave the apartment because he doesn't think that Vanya can understand and comprehend what he is going through. Vanya tells him to stay the night and that they'll try talking again in the morning. After Vanya goes into her room Number 5 leaves her apartment without a word.
Hazel and Cha Cha arrive at the motel where they receive a package. The package contains guns, mask, and other materials required for the job. As Cha Cha unpacks everything Hazel unscrews the vent and puts a large suit case in and seals it. Cha Cha scolds him because it is against protocol and they must have it on person at all times.
Then it switches over to the crime scene at the Donut Shop where Number 5 killed the mercenaries in the previous episode. Detective Patch interviews Agnes (the waitress) she tells the detective tells her what she saw. She told Detective Patch about her last customer a man and a child. She saw the man leave then heard gunshots so she stayed under the desk in the back office. She also mentioned that she was already questioned by another detective. Diego leaves through the back door and gets caught by Detective Patch. She tasers him them cuffs it is evident that they know each other personally and it is not the first time that they have met. As they walk to the squad car Detective Patch lectures Diego about how he cannot keep pretending that he is a law enforcer.
