Number Four was one of the forty-three superpowered children that were born the same day simultaneously at 9:38 P.M circa 1950. He and thirteen other children were adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves. When Hargreeves made public the adoption of the children he only told the world about seven. Meanwhile, Number Four and the other remaining six children were sent to a hiden location in Norway where they trained in secret. For the next nine years and one hundred-seventy days no one knew about the existence of the children until their first mission aboard Flight 636[1].
