What do you prefer to call him bye?
Max Hargreeves Or Five Hargreeves
Okay, so, I liked the rest of the show, but this ending: lazy and unsatisfying: nothing more than a bunch of writers tired of writing, wanting to quickly wrap up a show.
First off, it very much feels like a "betrayal" when the writers tell us our beloved heroes were never supposed to exist and thus don't really matter, because that's pretty much what they did.
Second, not only were there 35 or so other individuals given powers, throughout the show, we'd been led to believe that they'd been chosen to have those powers, and then they tell us it was just an accident and completely meaningless.
Not only did it seem like they were chosen, but that they were chosen by someone or something other than Reginald and his kind, someone or something even higher. Remember in season 3 when they found the reset button, out in place by "who or whatever created the universe." The technology in that location reacted to their powers. And, frankly, the subway in season 4 looked like it was created by the same higher beings, if you ask me. There was even a mysterious jumbled voice over its intercom. So, basically, this whole time, we're expecting some higher intelligence, higher than Reginald, to meet with at least one of them, possibly somewhere in the subway, and reveal the higher purpose not just for the 7 umbrella academy students but for all of those born on that day without a father, but, instead, they decide to tell us the subway somehow randomly sparked into existence, there was only ever supposed to be one timeline, neither the umbrella academy nor any of their other siblings mattered or should've ever even existed in the first place. >:(
Ok spoilers ahead if you haven’t finished yet. This is your warning. (Remove if not allowed I’m not use to posting here).
So we all know at the start of the show it describes how there were 43 children born spontaneously due to Reggie’s marigold distribution. And he only got our lovely seven (in the OG timeline). So then the finale is like all the marigold has to be eliminated in order for the timelines to be reset, and Jennifer eats them and Lila restoring everything. So what about the other 35 individuals?? I know…fiction. But like, my brain hurts and is dissatisfied a little with this in the back of my mind lol so if someone has some explanation to make sense of this I’d greatly appreciate it 😂 and what about the other universes/timelines with marigold in it? Why only this one? We saw so many other fives alone. Can anyone offer some insight for my hurting brain that seeks some kind of useless logic in all this pls lol
I can't believe it's ended. It was such a great series. It made me laugh and cry at the same time.
What do you guys think about the season? Pleaseee WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT!!
Also i can't help but quote a mcr reference after all this...
