But from a production perspective. It’s kinda difficult to think that they’ll be kids the whole time because what about the adult actors? With the exception of 5 they’re all adults and if they go back to being kids what will be the adult actors be doing during that time?
All them rockets shooting up into the sky at the end of the sequence if they were on earth why would they be launching all those rockets? Also he ages pretty well considering he immigrated to America in the late 20s and dies in 2019 he’d have been close to 120 and would have adopted the children at around 90 years old which I don’t know if you can do.
Arguably top 3 worst thing any of the siblings endured.
Interesting that everyone is saying Ben must have been born in Asia but no one said Alison could have been born in Africa...
What if this whole time Advil was the key to suppressing her powers?
Sacrificed himself as a hero, then his brothers and sisters saw the reality of putting your life on the line for others and no longer wanted to do it (with the exception of Luther and Diego (who was a hero/but on his own terms))
**** Major Spoilers for both Umbrella academy Season 1 and Stranger things season 1 and 2... continue at own Risk****
——You have been warned!!!——-
I’m just saying if they were born on the same day (October 31st, 1989) then 11 wouldn’t be a teenager in the early-mid 80s. Because she wouldn’t have been born yet. If your suggesting that 11 and 8 were time travelled back in time. That... would also not make since because of 11’s mother. 11’s mother and aunt would have had to been time traveled back as well. Then there’s also the fact that 11’s mother was pregnant with a normal gestation period. Unlike The Umbrella academy children who’s parents were not pregnant when the day first began. Finally Hopper can’t leave Indiana to work on patches case because hopper is a middle aged cop (probably around 40) in the 1980s he would be somewhere around 75-80 in 2019 where patch is a detective. Something tells me with his lifestyle he doesn’t live that long and even if he does that’s a ridiculously old age for him to still be working and much less move from his small town to the City. I can not however completely rule out Dr. Brenner knowing Reginald as Reginald is an Alien who moved to the City in I think 1928 (or at least that’s the date on his card when he goes threw an Ellis island looking immigration center. Both men are interested in Genetics and if they do exist in the same universe it is likely that at some point they have met... be it at an awards ceremony for research or government facility or whatever.
——I Warned you there were spoilers for both series——
Probably not since the Umbrella academy kids were born in 1989 and stranger things takes place in the 80s
I completely agree with you about him being horrible to Klaus and he should apologize for that(I don’t think he will, at least not on screen...) because even if Klaus kinda got him back with Witty remarks and exposing Luther’s regrettable night to the rest of the family Luther shouldn’t beat up his brother like that. About being disrespectful to Vanya do you mean by just not noticing that she’s there and forgetting she’s even apart of the family sometimes because if so I’d agree with you. But if you mean by locking her up I think that was the right thing to do at the time... I really didn’t like it though because she’s not a bad person she just drew the short straw when it comes to her powers because hers is uncontrollable (at least to our knowledge right now) I also didn’t like that they just left her alone down there, I don’t know if it would have helped if they took turns even just being outside of the cell or whatever but definitely wouldn’t have hurt that much more.
Then to the other points... He was right Reginald’s death wasn’t natural, and to our knowledge Hargreaves didn’t interact with anyone except the siblings, pogo and grace... He was wrong about who to accuse but that is certainly not irredeemable. And the rankings of what was worst would be Ben(dead)
Vanya(told is just average/lied to)
Allison(lost custody because she used her powers selfishly)
Diego(wasn’t there for patch(who should have just ran after saving klaus))
For Luther it wasn’t just that he spent his prime isolated on the moon. His image of his father who was his hero was completely torn down and he saw Reginald in the light Reginald deserves to be shown in. He was abandoned by his siblings and sent into a mission where he was turned into a monster. And now he feels that everything he did was pointless and he found that out twice which makes it seem like he talked about it a lot but in reality it was only like 48? hours that he had to process that until the apocalypse.
He does act cocky just because he’s number one... but that’s not irredeemable.
He is overly aggressive and emotional with Klaus. Which is not acceptable so I’ll give you that one. Karma came back around and his divorced SISTER who has a child got overly angry at him for losing his virginity the next day.
Vanya should have been locked up. She can’t control her powers and puts everyone else in danger. She slit Allison’s throat because Reginald forced her to do something awful at a young age. Then she just left Alison there to bleed out and die. I mean she literally blows up the moon if she really wanted to stay with Alison to get her help then she could fended of meek Harold Jenkins. She wanted to be with Harold then he says some mean things and she kills him with every sharp object in two rooms. Pogo told Luther everything about Vanya and her powers and how she killed a bunch of nanny’s before they got grace we can only assume that Luther was told everything that Pogo knew and at that time were not sure if any of the other siblings were told that so they’re not in a position to decide what to do with her because they don’t have the knowledge. Vanya was a threat to herself and everyone else next time anyone said anything that got her mad she might have snapped and sliced open their throats. Luther made the right call at the time... Hindsight is 20/20 probably would have been better to keep her heavily sedated or in a medical coma until they could get the power suppressing medicine to kick in.
Why is this even a question? He did nothing wrong...
If we vote for ben’s time traveling does that count for time travel or for Ben’s tentacles?
“The very few friends I have call me... Out of This World.”
Vanya is just stubborn, childish and naive. Those aren’t good qualities and it’s so annoying. She acts like a little kid still. Then she complains that Allison wants to be in her life now and acts like a big sister even though Allison has her own problems. Allison is legit just trying to be nice and Vanya still pushes her away and that whole rage at the end makes it look like no one ever cared about her but that’s just not true. This whole time her sister keeps saying Lenard is bad news, then she proves proof and instead of being like yeah he took me out to this cabin and is so involved in me having powers that makes sense let’s get out of here. She’s like throat slash, rage, rage, rage! And Lenard isn’t even that like able towards Vanya he made it seem like her violin is so cool then at the cabin he’s like who cares about violin... and it’s like that’s not a red flag but your sister saying your cold and distant father made her erase your memory when she was 4 and she honestly didn’t know you had powers... yeah should probably slash her throat for that.
You’ve been warned
Not sure right now because there’s much more than just plot that would be important for a season two... with the amount of money that they pay the adult actors would the show runners really want to take the plan of action that was alluded to at the end of the season that they were all gonna go back in time... into their child bodies in order to “fix” Vanya. If they did do that then how would the adult actors fit into at least the early part of the season or will they skip to after the whole child experiment and then only visit that in flash backs or would they show the children fixing Vanya then have flashbacks further explaining each and every one of the characters problems that they were dealing with mentally as adults before the events of season one? There’s a lot of different possible ways to go and if I know one thing from season one... I’m going to love whichever path they take!
I don’t think so as it makes lines said in the show have a completely different and or much less impactful meaning. As two examples that would suggest the opposite are...
Man on the moon episode 4 timestamp 29:13 ben says “you know what the worst part of being dead is? You’re stuck, nowhere to go- nowhere to change. That’s the real torture if you gotta know. Watching your brother take for granted everything you lost, and pissing it all away.” If someone committed suicide it seems unlikely that they would be mad at their brother for pissing all their life away when they did the same thing.
There’s also another scene which I can not find right now but I will comment later if I do. were klaus says something like... “you weren’t ready to die violently at a young age.”
To me these are all indications that it wasn’t his choice to die and it was more tragedy and terrific accident then a suicide. Also people have this terrible habit of always blaming every bad thing on someone even if it wasn’t solely their fault or if there was really nothing they could do about it that could explain why the others and one feels one is responsible for Ben’s death.
R.I.P. Ben! (Pun May have been intended)
16 years 4 months and 14 days is the time that pogo states in the first episode. Then the day he came back (maybe the same one) then Vanya says it is March 24 2019 but I am unsure that the day is the same all throughout episode 1”we only see each other at weddings and funerals” . But assuming it is the same day the day 5 leaves would be November 10th 2002.
