I get we're trying to be all Inclusive, but the parts before his transition should use Vanya instead of Viktor, he only transitioned in season 3, it just causes a huge amount of confusion for people that haven't gotten that far. I made a temp fix by adding his OG name into the alias section and adding (Born Female) in the gender section instead of just male. how do i know this? because i spent a good 10 minutes reading through the page and checking everything only to notice one sentence at the bottom of the intro mentioning he transitioned

Ability: They have the ability to manipulate plants at will.

Downsides of ability/Quirks: Unfortunately, when they go outside and lay down, their hair, for some reason, grows into the grass (It was theorized that their hair grows into the grass and dirt as a type of root system, to absorb the nutrients in the dirt, akin to a plant) . Then when they wake up, their hair has grown a tremendous amount, depending on how long they laid down, So they just don't go outside much at all because they get sleepy outside in the sun, and want to just stand there and absorb the sunlight (like a plant). As well, they can almost slow down their aging physical when they want, to match the growth of any surrounding plant. However, they can not reduce their age, only slow it.

Appearance: They have light brown skin and straightened hair, their hair being dyed various times, though they like varying shades of green the best (plus, it helps disguise any leftover grass that gets tangled in it.) Vines has brown, down turned eyes, though they really do like wearing purple contacts. They stand around 5'7, with lanky arms and legs. They tend to wear darker clothing to absorb sunlight, though they have a very colorful collection of socks.

Personality: They tend to be carefree, but are serious when they need to be. With a tendency to make very inappropriate comments at some times and appear innocent at others, it gives them a sort of 'kid with a creepy/violent side'. Sometimes, the others get scared they might actually hurt them or do something terrible. They try to be devoted to things, such as exercising every day, but they lack motivation. Although, they do find things they genuinely like and do it daily, such as singing (its really bad, but that's besides the point). Highly intelligent, but again, can choose not to portray themselves as that. They are skilled at manipulation, but are terrible at lying. Plus, they try to keep their conscience clear by not. If you can get them to open up, they do care for the ones closest to them, along with most 'innocent' people. But God forbid if they think you're a bad person, because they do have some very strong morals about 'good' and 'bad'. They're highly logical and think almost everything through, 95 % of the time. If you catch them in a bad spot, they might make an impulsive decision. Or if forced to, they'll try to think quickly and find the best option.

School/Book: High, though does sometimes act stupid

Luther: They get along 50 percent of the time. If they've been spending more than 60 percent of the day with them, they can't stand each other. If they don't encounter each other much, they get along very well. But they do care deeply, and are close. In childhood, Vines would grow thick plants around Luther and see if he could break free, though if he couldn't, Vines would leave him stuck for a bit (sometimes by accident), causing Luther to not be able to trust Vines. Luther feels comfy enough to try to pick on Vines sometimes, but Vines doesn't really understand the jokes, for some reason.

Closeness level: 6.7/10

Diego: Like with Luther, Diego had a habit of picking on Vines, sometimes to get out anger, due to Vines being unable to understand the jokes. Though, Vines did blatantly insult Diego back. They didn't get along well, due to Diego being impulsive, and Vines having to think everything through. But they do like physically fighting with each other, not out of anger, just to train. Diego tended to get a bit rough and reduce VInes to tears at times.

Closeness level: 4/10

Allison: They fought like a dog and cat most times. Allison just didn't like how...out of it Vines was most of the time, and Vines didn't trust Allison not to rumor him, But in rare moments, they did trust each other with secrets, and trust each other. Allison liked doing makeup on Vines to practice, when they were in the moments of trust.

Closeness level: 6/10

Klaus: Oh. My. God. These two share the same type of sarcastic humor, but Vines tends to not use it as much, despite thinking it. Vines made various attempts as kids to get Klaus sober, failing, and Vines blamed himself for that. Klaus did admit, once, that he appreciated Vines trying, but it was more of a personal problem. Besides that, they got along perfectly, though Vines didn't like that Klaus chose not to use his intelligence, at some points, doubting if Klaus even remembers basic addition. They shared secrets often, though Vines did judge him openly and Klaus did the same for him. They enjoyed being honest with each other, for once.

Closeness level: 10/10

Five: They were in a besties/enemies cycle. At some points, they would work together well, due to them both being highly intelligent, though each insisted they were better. And at some points, they hated each other and wondered why the other just couldn't be more normal (both longed for just not fighting, but they were prone to it). They trusted each other (as much as it was possible for them too) and oftentimes Vines would sneak into Fives room during the night and they'd talk about the origins of their powers.

Closeness: 8/10

(Note: there was one day, they were both highly frustrated with how the day had gone, and they had gotten in trouble and were being forced to cook dinner. Vines kept insisting that FIve was cutting it wrong, and tried to show him how to do it. Unfortunately, it ended up in a fistfight, and before Mom could intervene, Five had thrown the knife at VInes, cutting Vines ear. Even though Five returned after several years, Vines hasn't spoken to five, being petty. Five hasn't either.)

Ben: I don't know Ben's character well enough to judge this lmao

Viktor: As kids, they were two peas in a pod. Vines often would (try) to skip his lessons to go play with him, or do its work with Viktor. Vines never was unfair to him, knowing that being an outcast was hard. Viktor, for his art lessons, would ask Vines to grow a flower and he'd draw it. They got along unless it was something Viktor was jealous of, which Vines would try to make it fair.

I just recently got into The Umbrella Academy, and I’m somewhere on season two.

I’m not really sure if this is how you guys introduce newbies, but this is how my wiki’s do that.

This will contain s1-s2 spoilers.

My favorite characters of TUA are:

Klaus (#1, gay boy.)

Five (#2, black coffee lover.)

Vanya/Viktor (#3, violin child.)

Allison (#4, she’s definitely something. I love her 1960s version because she actually grew he life without shaping it that way using her power.)

Hazel (#5, he died in s2 but I still love him, Cha-Cha is cool but she literally stopped a love story from happening.)

And lastly, Lila (#6, if Diego loves her, I do too.)

I feel extremely sorry for Vanya/Viktor in s1 and s2.

Season One:

I feel sorry for Vanya/Viktor in season one because not only was he lied too, but none of his siblings told him that he actually had powers. Nobody cared enough to tell.

Then he proceeded to get manipulated by his boyfriend in order to train his power, almost killing his sister and actually killing his boyfriend. I really thought that he was gonna kill everyone this season, but nope.

Season Two:

Imagine living normally(I probably shouldn’t say normally because that was not normal) with Sissy and her ACTUAL BRAT child, and then your told that your current family is not yours and that your name is Vanya Hargreeve’s. Then you get chased by some people.

You’d be confused, right? Everything he’s ever known was false.

So that’s why I feel sorry for him.

I really enjoy this series, and it accurately represents things. Unlike child cartoons, where a unicorn or something will get trauma and never get post-trauma.

Basically, it turns into Steve Harrington(ST) as a child’s cartoon. No post-trauma, no nothing.

But then again, there are good child cartoons that accurately represent.

Oh, this show… it turns every character into Eleven(ST) in a nutshell from their trauma, and it’s perfect because it accurately represents.

I wasn't originally going to make this list, but since I wanted to do a poll on that topic I decided to make this list of the most unsympathetic characters in the series first. Information from Tv Tropes.

• Luther is supposed to be sympathetic in the reasoning for his various actions throughout Season 1, but some fans find his stubbornness unsympathetic and his reasoning flawed. While spending years of your life completely alone for absolutely no reason is a pretty horrible thing, these fans tend to sour on him in "The Day that Was", especially considering that he came off a lot better in the last episode (before the timeline changed). In this episode, a drunk and emotionally unstable Luther briefly chokes Klaus and is later too high and drunk to notice when Klaus dies and is soon resurrected. It doesn't help that Five has him outclassed with his 40 years spent alone, and he doesn't share some of Luther's worst traits.

• Allison in Season 1 is trying to be a good sister to Viktor after they haven't talked for ten years and is worried when he takes up with a suspicious man. However, some fans find it difficult to sympathize with her following the reveal that she Rumored her daughter, who was two, for having normal childhood tantrums. For a time, it seems she blamed others for the problems this caused rather than taking responsibility. It's also grating that her attempts to build connections with Viktor often come across as simply yelling "I'm your sister!" over and over rather than showing any real sign of understanding or commonality. Blindly relying on sisterhood rings especially hollow given her distinctly non-sisterly relationship with Luther.

• In season 1 some fans argue that Viktor's focus on his childhood exclusion makes him come across as whiny and self-absorbed, considering he brings it up at several highly inappropriate moments and becomes passive aggressive when his siblings try to reason with him. He shows no remorse for writing a book that put his siblings' personal demons on full display and most likely did heavy damage to their reputations. His constant cutting remarks toward Allison also make him seem like a bit of a bully, as Allison is, at that point, the only sibling actively trying to befriend him and treat him like part of the family.

• Ben towards Klaus at times. While it is fair that he be fed up with Klaus at this point, his frustrations sometimes come up at inappropriate times, such as him telling Klaus that 'the real torture' was watching him throw his life while Klaus is being tortured by assassins and suffers from the traumas from his past. And while he does have a point about Klaus trying to talk to Dave, he never seems to sympathize after it ends in Klaus getting punched by the love of his life out of homophobia and it only annoyed by Klaus' coping mechanism, which was breaking sobriety. Then there's Ben breaking the rules Klaus set for when he's possessed, which has... implications.

• Allison during season 3. She's far from the only character through the series to lose a loved one, yet she spends all of season 3 blaming other people for her loss and acts violently psychotic without comeuppance or acknowledgment of any kind. Among other things, she sexually assaults Luther with her mind-control power, she murders an innocent disabled man purely out of vengeance, and then she gloats to Viktor (whom was a surrogate parental-figure of sorts to the victim) about it whilst torturing him in front of their family. No one in the family seems to catch on to her murderous, psychopathic behaviour, and in fact they give Viktor more grief over the above events via everyone being upset about him trying to save Harlan's life, Five threatening to kill Viktor if he gets out of line, and even Luther pushing Viktor to try to make up with Allison. She appears to get everything she wants by the end, with no acknowledgment of the fact that she's a self-admitted remorseless murderer, sexual assaulter, and would-be rapist.

• Lila after the revelation that Stanley isn't actually her and Diego's kid but just the son of a friend whom she took from his own time and dumped onto Diego before running away. While it was according to her a Secret Test of Character, since she is actually pregnant with Diego's child, some still found Lila's behavior cruel and irresponsibly insane since she's essentially still abandoning a child with someone who is a stranger to him. Viewers felt Lila should already know, having got to know and love Diego that he would be a good father and while she may of been raised to be sociopathic by The Hander, that Freudian Excuse for her actions wears thin when it's shown she is capable making good choices and not acting like an overgrown child. Worse still, Stanley gets killed by Kugelblitz which never would've of happened in the first place if she didn't orchestrate this cruel scheme of fooling Diego into thinking he had a son.
